Post Destroyed & Abandoned bases on test
You will need to download the new test client if you want to interact with user bases:

http://www.starsonata.com/StarSonata_TestClient.exe

Put it in your SS folder.

If I remember right, the blueprints for repair kits can be obtained in shadow.

Note: you will also need to own the galaxy to repair your base, so hostile takeovers are still possible.

Blueprints aren't in shadow, also might wanna check this out: http://starsonata.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22354 . Might be related to the new code?

Also, so if Abandoned bases are left without being stripped or repaired by the owner, they become open to the next person who docks there, correct? Might need a way to make abandoned bases drop off planets (for when a hostile takeover happens and you want to lay some bases). Perhaps doing X amount of damage after it is dead causes it to fall off the planet?

Also, I found a way to crash test server, check support ticket for info.

Also, on Kattare now with the new client, random bases appear to be abandoned (but really arent).

Also, bases on test do not have weight, thus no inertia, thus it continues flying at 1 speed in whatever direction you tractor it in.

Bio mites are also semi-bugged (see ticket [same one as the crash one, just been replying to it])

Thanks, it is good to know someone uses the test server - I am fixing the nest problem, however the blueprints will probably have to be added manually by Jeff or Voom until the next universe.

If the base is abandoned, you can just dock/blow it up/use a demolition kit on it. Demolition kits will also have to be added manually to be sold at some bases.

I don't have access to the ticket system, if you can PM me as well, please do. Edit: Nvm, I talked to voom about it and its fixed now.

This is due to the incompatibility of the new client with the old server, I would suggest trying to download a new copy from the main page if it causes problems, that might still be the old client. If that doesn't work the main server should be patched within a day.

I posted some more things on the ticket if you can get someone to look at it (I'll probably continue posting on there as I find more stuff).

I'd also like to know when bases turn from "Destroyed" into "Abandoned".

The current setup on the main site gives people the beta version 1052.221 beta; just wanted to inform you if people start posting it in bugs if they update. Your link in your first post on here does not work correctly, I had to DL it off the main site (the updater is missing the patch for Star Sonata.exe).

you can dock at destroyed bases adn be 100% free of harm

heres a example

Player 1 attacking Team 2s bases
Player 1 kills 1 base but is die so docks at newly destroyed base
Team 2 cant kill Player 1 becasue the base player 1 is docked at cannot die
Player 1 undocks kills another base
Team 2 repairs first killed base
Player 1 docks are newly killed base and regens

The test server had the time from when a destroyed base becomes abandoned set at 60 seconds. In the real game it will be 3 days, during which time only the owner of the destroyed base can dock there.

Couldn't there be an issue if someone drops completely undefended base kits, though? This would result in a usage of base slots and prevent others from building in a galaxy without any regressions against said player.

Maybe have workers continue to consume rations after the base death until it becomes an abandoned base. As well, kits with no workers on them should become instantly abandoned.

You can still kill a base with radiation to bypass the destroyed base phase, that will turn the base immediately abandoned. If the base is truly undefended, this shouldn't be a problem.

If a base was destroyed by AI, for example, could you then radiate the destroyed base to move it to an abandoned state?
