Post Note to DMs (and people going DM)
After recent events and testing with high level DMs able to solo or solo DPS end game bosses, it is likely that the drone operation augmenters will be nerfed or have their stats readjusted so that the drones aren't quite as overpowered with end game gear.

What exactly will be done and when is still under discussion, but for now please understand that a nerf is coming. Don't go reset your skills and blow a ton of credits on a new ship, drone operation augmenters and armada drones just to be overpowered unless you are really serious about becoming an engineer.

As long as you dont do what normally happens, in that you nerf things 900% so much that the end article, may as well be a minor combo...there are several of the high end DM's that will test this for you to get the right balance

Slicer
Neuraxis
Abbara (if he still plays)
Nicely Trimmed bush
Geoman11 (Geoman11 has only been playing a few months, and is lvl 1300+)
KoRGenT
Deadwall

These are the only DM's in the 1400 level that i can think of, that will be using these sort of setups and augs, so please speak to these and get their opinions.

I personally think the Uber Zone drones should take a penalty as well in power. However, make it so when drones are destroyed they become a destroyed drone rather (like how bases become a destroyed base) and scoopable by the owner, as well as have higher end DGs and UZ bosses rarely drop repair blueprints that could be used to have one regular version of the drone and a bunch of metals and other commodities turn the destroyed drones into refurbished drones with the same stats and ability to become a destroyed state of the regular drone was blown up again (refurbished in the name would be simply to prevent exploitation by using one drone to repair a bunch of drones, and the repaired drones to continue repairing in a chain).

While not related exactly to the overpowered drone aug stats, I just wanted to share that suggestion to further balance the insane cost and high-power of the more advanced drones in their current relation.

Armada Drones, in general, without any drone operations augs are not broken as far as i can tell.

In my opinion, drone ops augs are only broken because you can use multiples of them on one ship, and still have quite a bit of bank to deploy drones. Therefore, in my opinion it would be best to limit these augs to one per ship, and/or remove the energybank bonus.

I do not believe this.

I traded a 2 billion credit item for a T10 drone aug, for my lowbie alt. I also paid 500 mil for another one, and have purchased well over 2 bil in drones (although I lost most of them). Why would you not take another few days to look at balence before you released these things? I want a refund, I cannot believe you would wait this long to announce it, although I do not expect you to care after seeing how you have treated others who you also royally fucked over in the same fashion.

You do realize this hasn't happened yet? It's going to happen yes, but it hasn't happened yet. Ever wondered why a drone ops aug costs so much other than how rare it is to find the tokens? And the admins will probably be consulting player DMs before they do this.

what it needs is a rebalencing wasup. not for the drones to be removed or cut to peices. and yugioh HaL did say dont go investing unless you know what your getting into... he didnt say it had happend yet. read the damn forum before you post your starting to get on my nerves as well.

i agree perhaps they have too much energy or sheilds and that allows over stacking.maybe remove all bonuses on the ops augs other then the ops. that aught to make them a little harder to stack. but also iv been told that station tweaking effects drones in a big way.

Neuraxis and i have kept a running dialogue about it and i wont speak for him but i do see being able to equip more then one as being a bit overpowering in many cases. if you limit it to one of a type this might help. one sup class, one prowess, one normal...ect.

I never said my personal opinion, personally, I say that the ops augs stay the same but are limited to 1 per ship; a quickfix for it would be to do things such as: On the Ops give -hull, and on the engineer mastery give +hull. So on the sup _____ ops drone aug give -20% hull and the engineer mastery give +25% hull -> no change (.8 * 1.25 = 1).

perhaps. that is one rout that could be taken and it is much quicker.perhaps just set a hard programmed limit. that alone should be enough to fix part of that problem. and station tweaking can be ether fixed or removed. since its an outdated skill and stations are allready pretty insane. *knows neuraxis hates this part*


EDIT: one thing that does do though is require the use of an engineer augmenter if you use an ops aug. i dont think that would work so well.
