Post Client2 Art Preview
We are mostly done with the creation of 3d art for client2. Following are 12 ships -- screen grabs from the Irrlicht model viewer and not ray traced renders from a graphics program.

Very nice, but I think Barbe Noir is meant to be Barbe Bleu, is it not? Bleu flies a SBAAx1, rouge flies a mini rosmarinus, noir flies a rosmarinus.

Awesome!

Although i do notice some jagged edges. Will we have the ability to use AA in the Irrlicht engine at all? Or will we have to force AA with graphics drivers?

I don't know if I'am going to like Client 2 as much :P I like SS being 2D

It's a classic arcade game with fucking awesome effects and gameplay.

That being said I can't be too sure what Client 2 completely looks like, I had a theory previously that it would be like Eve Nova and the only difference being that the ships will rise up when passing over things and they will have 3D banking, so you will see the right of a ship and a raised left when turning right. But now I'am not sure, and I'am beginning to wonder if this will be similar to Eve online.

Not that this is a bad thing, I'am just wondering if this shitty laptop will be able to run it, I lag enough allready :P 64FPS when just flying normally.

Note: I'am not good with computers, so can you tell me if this will run C2.
Pentium M730 processor (1.6GHz, 533 MHz FSB, 2MB L2 cache)
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900
256MB DDR2.

I have no idea what any of that stuff means, it's just written on the sticker :P

Will that run it?

Cheers.

As we have explained a million times. It wont be 3D as in EvE. It will still be a topdown view so it will basicly look like it does now except better graphics and the ability to do some cool effects.

I like what the DF's cargo pods are gonna do...but I do see, like Takuhi pointed out...quite a fair amount of jaggy edges.

Doubt you will see those when the ships are actually in the game.

Doesn't that mean they're the images/sprits/whatever being used for the actual game?
