Most of my work recently has centered around the Jujus'uuu Qa, the first 'real' boss player will engage in the UrQa UZ. I would say he's coming along nicely, in fact just earlier I was killed with two shots of his massive superlaser, and I have 100K shield points. I do not want to spoil the secret, but yes, this kind of burst damage can be avoided. Here is an updated screenshot using one of the new ship graphics.
Attachment: iqqauuuupdated.png As you may have noticed, yes, the boss does have an invincibility aura. When I have said in the past that this area is meant to be extremely difficult, I was not kidding. Just this first boss will require many players working together in order to overcome all the strengths the boss has. After a few talks with players and other devs, I have decided to change the way loot works in this zone just a bit. Yes, killing bosses will give you the best gear, but there will also be a fairly involved token system with item rewards. All normal AI will have a chance to drop tokens, bosses will always drop tokens as well as special tokens for class specific or hull specific items. All of this will be in addition to the normal drops. By adding a token system to this zone, all players will have a chance at getting something that benefits them regardless of which boss is being killed. Just for example. Nothing good drops for you from the Freighter Boss? You should go anyway to get tokens that you can trade for an upgrade on your Light Fighter. This also allows us to easily control the difficulty of obtaining some items, without forcing players to farm the same boss repeatedly. Overall, I would say I am getting close to 20% completed. I like the idea of token system, but I hope there will be some really interesting and *rare* boss drops too
As for the zone, I think I'm falling in love with it! Love the idea of going into the eerie alien territory and trying to stick a fork into the gears of the urqan war machine. If he has an Invincibility aura, are you supposed to use classes that reduce resistance to weapons to kill it?

That main boss should fire urqa fighters in my opinion. That could also be one of the new drops.

There are other ways to do it as well other than reducing resistances. Sounds awesome though, love the token system, will solve one of the problems that occurs in Serengeti.

I believe its a missile and fighter generator of some sort or launcher, not sure. And no, there is no way to get any of them. _________________ My User Page Join SS! |
