Post Some new things to look for tomorrow
1. Eight bonus aug reset missions in Shadow, locked to the same levels as the regular aug reset missions. These will be available for the temp uni and the full uni after it *only*. They will be removed after that.

2. New base-only OL BP's in FM that build OL's more powerful than any existing. The stats on these may be further improved if we think bases are still too weak.

3. New ablative armor BP for bases located in ?. These provide very high resists plus 100 soak. Better than any existing diffusers for bases, but these have non-zero failure rate. They take 0 workers, 0 space, and are equip-upon-completion and sticky.

4. Drone controller BP's.

5. The skill reset is still free.

Of course tons and tons of other things, but these mentioned are important to gaining your full power and adjusting to the rebalanced stats.

2 + 3 are in the vein of moving the power of bases away from something that you can just plunk down in 10 seconds to power that you have to build up over time. The OL's and diffusers are both very powerful, but have failure rates. They are intended to make bases more powerful at first, but vulnerable to a prolonged siege.

A related change is that diffusers will no longer blow if they modify the incoming damage to 0. So your base with the new diffusers won;t be blowing its armor from random Ai's or RoF augged ships shooting mass drivers or excoms unless they can overcome the soak. We can up the 100 soak later if necessary.

From my side you can look forward to getting your ass kicked by Vultures who will now be in DGs. You can also look forward to the new DG boss based on Vultures, the Condor.

I also made another Ai just for fun which turned out really nice imo. I ended up adding it as a deep warp 3 Ai. It will be in high DF and even fewer in numbers then Vultures so you dont need to be that worried ^^

I can imagine that just like with Vultures some people will find them extremely tough and some will find them very easy.

They are totally different from Vultures, pretty different from anything else too. They where inspired by Forgones/GBs/Vultures

Does sticky mean they cannot be unequipped for transport to another base or storage during uni reset?

Also, can they be stacked, and how does stacking them affect the failure rate?

Equip-upon-completion and sticky means they can only be used on the base where they are made (which is why we can safely let them take 0 space).

I'm pretty sure they can be stacked only in the sense that when one is destroyed, the next is used.

does that mean they will be capships with rapidfire torpedoes using pushtractors over impracticly high ranges firing deadly missles?

A side-effect of this is it will be even more important to be on a large team that has people online 24/7 so someone will be online who can go and help defend your base even if you personally are not. I didn't think this was the direction admins wanted SS to go but now small teams bases will be even more vulnerable unless they have people online all the time.
