check this website.
http://www.jeypc.com/ss/ basicly its a bundle of the scripts i personally use to make ss work better (also include the ss tunnel). I wipped up a small gui for it and there it is. All the infos are on the website, and if there is anything feel free to contact me. (the ramdisk and multicore feature should help a lot for the client performance) also keep in mind, this is a third party application. This is not an official tool. To use on client 2 with live server, download the main install (not the beta one). install it as described on the website, but once the launcher launched the game, change the server adress in game to 127.0.0.1 port 3030 If the client connect using that adress, then you are now on the ss tunnel, if it doesnt then something went wrong somewhere. _________________ One of the first and proud flight controller. Grab job Jey. I don't need it but, at least I can physically see what you do for the game. Plus, you still play the game. *Tear* Makes me so emo.

small patch. added a check for new version, and the single_core mode for the multicore tool. (it will give a different core to each client, trying to keep the loads even between each).

you can if you want, but as specified, the multicore in multiple_core mode is instable. On the other hand, the multicore in "single_core" mode, will share the cpu between your multiple clients. while each client still only get 1 core. 1st client will be on cpu 1, 2nd client on cpu2 etc.

Small update, adding a process priority control to the launcher. as well as fixing some minor bugs and improving the multicore handling.

<3 the tunnel, it lets me play SS at camp.
However, that prioritize option is severely messed up. I turned it on along with ramdisk and the tunnel (just single core, so multicore was useless). I chose high priority when I turned it on, to give me the best possible speed. It took me 30+ seconds to log on. Once I was on, the lag was ungodly, worse than Liquid ever was. It would take 10 or 15 seconds to warp, in a relatively empty gal. The rest of the computer was totally useless, I couldn't even open a browser with SS minimized. I tried messing with a ton of stuff to make it work. Finally, I tried without the high priority, and the lag just vanished. I am not playing with no lag whatsoever, and 65 FPS. _________________ Dorin Nube wrote: Nipples aren't the only danger here. |

Well the priorize option isn't recommended for singlecore CPU since windows tend to not give highpriority to network related process . If an high priority process like ss is running, the network msg tend to be delayed
