I know people have been eager to see the progress on SS2, so I've decided to show some progress off and keep everyone updated. I've got a growing screenshot collection and I've decided to share, and take requests! Here are a few today to start off.
Please post with your requests for future screenshots! First one for today is the Anaconda! Note that it appears a bit pink because there is a sun just off screen. Mining in Blue Outpost! Rhino! _________________ Hey, I'm Ryan! I've been playing Star Sonata since early 2005 and I've been involved with the development of the game since 2009. I do server and client programming mainly focusing on bug fixes, but I've also dabbled in creating a little bit of content too such as Captain Kidd. Rhino looks quite good in my opinion, but the reavers and izer are super flat. Hopefully they're just placeholders.

It might be the camera angle for a couple of them, the only one in those pictures that actually looks too flat ingame, imo, is the reaver (and thats not very fair to it, as the animated half of the ship is currently not displayed). _________________ Hey, I'm Ryan! A Panther, banking into a turn under the glow of the strange sun in Bipolar
An unknown ship, with earth in the background. Dwarfed by Gargan's Red Giant (the screenshot doesn't do the sun justice, its spectacular ingame) _________________ Hey, I'm Ryan! Normal sized suns should be that big, and the red giants should be 3x bigger, and the gargan one 10x bigger.
Then we're talking epic. _________________ Simon, Talking about the Admins and I wrote: Well someone has to play the devil if they are the gods. |

I'm a little turned off by the degree to which environmental effects color things. Ships shouldn't just get washed out to purple or green, or if they must then this should be reserved as a special effect in a place like Bipolar. Perhaps this won't be so prevalent in C2 as a whole and we're just seeing lots of it in the screenshots and videos, but that's my two cents anyway.
