You could possibility make a temporary IRC chat link whilst this is happening~ I dunno though.
Is still a long time for a migration, I expected 4 hours~. Surprised but still happy for it to be happening.

if you connect using ip (67.227.242.181). you can be on the old irc for as long as you want. It will stay up most likely for as long as the old server will remain active (with a message about the new server obviously). Its one of the few service that doesnt have any dynamic data to worry about (there is, but its a separate service that we can shut down without killing irc (the ident part)). And while yes i expect 3-4 hours myself, 8hours is a safe duration estimate. I also picked a time where the population is at its lowest to reduce the impact from a longer than normal downtime. |

Yea this game could use a fresh start  Pretty sure its possible to start a second server now that the capacity is so much larger
