A proposal that when you get back into your ship from death, you can’t jump into another gal owned by the owners for 30 seconds. We’re hoping this mitigates the “suicide to get deeper and deeper into enemy territory” issue, and we’re curious to hear player feedback on this.

What this means is that you only need to defend your borders. Your inside galaxies could be only T3 EE kits for all anyone cares, since anyone who has aggro won't be able to get to them without getting through your borders. This would make holding more space significantly cheaper for teams that aren't unsustainable large.

Although, a team could initiate hostilities whilst inside another team's space, so you don't actually have to fight through their borders. The way around that is to make teams unable to attack a galaxy unless there is an unowned galaxy next to it (or something like that).

Low vis scoutships could still get through border gals to drop temp warp beacons in weakly defended inner gals.

You can't drop Small Warp Beacons in galaxies owned by other teams than your own, so that is covered. But if there is an unowned galaxy behind the border, then it is indeed possible to do this.

I've always thought the idea that team empires are not border dependent in this game ridiculous. It means you had to treat every galaxy in the team space as its own discreet fortress rather than planning an empire in any interesting and meaningful way. They did address the bvb aspect of this problem long ago with bvb off owned gals only etc

seems an interesting and easy fix to bring pvb up to this concept with this fix

I wouldnt mind it at all if everyone only had to defend their borders. Simple fact stays that if one border breaks your entire team space is FUCKED if you put 0 defense in it. You'll always need some kind of anti PvB defense just to be safe.

The only change this makes is that to attack an interior gal you have to bring a couple monks as escort... not the end of the world...

If you don't have a couple of monks available for that, let me help you out by telling you that you don't need to be picking fights if you can't scrounge up enough monks to sneak through a gal...

That may be true in the midgame but with the current endgame meta there's no way you'll accomplish that.

I like the defend borders thing, then you can have the more experienced players with enough gear build on borders and the newbys with no gear build on the inside where its (relatively) safe so they can build up gear! It'll make it interesting though to see if teams grab more space or less with this idea in.

Post Re: Discussion of PvP
My Opinion is that The PVP in the game isnt the issue its the gameplay.

Right now you could reset the uni every 3 days because it doesnt matter.

in less than 30 min everybody has the galaxys they want and most likely wildspace will not change until the next reset.

Expanding in wildspace has to be a longtherm goal not a 20 min obstical
every unireset.

It should be a team afford to be able to own more space in Wildspace which resets every universe. Let bosses drop random items which ingreases the rank. Make weekly missions where you can get this items too. Maybe make it a system like prawn pieces where you can build a item which than allows you to train a teamskill that ingreases the range your team is be able to build around the hq.

The game is about freedom ,that you are allowed to do what you want. Over the Years so much content got added that people forgot about the core of the game.
When you play the game you can acually feel that there was a great idea somewhere and it got lost in a real big pile of shit.

^says the guy who couldnt build a galaxy if his life depended on it.

There is so much more to this game than pressing the spacebar. You are missing out.
