Another revelation I had, if there are limits than the defending team can lay HPS ada kits on a sun and never ever be killed, because 5 dps kits dont out dps 5 hps kits, esp with drones and Z axis =p


the only solution to this would be reconsidering the tractoring mechanic, which I dont think is warranted yet. at that point we'd now be talking about changing two huge basing dynamics.

If there was a limit on how many bases would be deployed, many would make full hps and 1 SL kit and a bunch of hps drones so you can't kill it without players interacting and stopping you. Which if the attackers were not limited then it would be easy game for someone to kill 5 hps kits but not quickly esp with hps drones.

Yea I'd just put 5 extremely tanky regen/hps kits on a planet or sun and surround them with resist augged perma drones. Good luck pulsing my kits.

I think what we're seeing here is the players who have good experience with bases since the base rebalance understand why capping each team to 5 kits would be bad.

Mining resists on drones are lower than kit resists since the patch again so that strategy is out the window :P

Also, I believe we plan to move suns lower on the z axis so they can't be used at blockades for unattached station anymore as of next uni(?)

I'm gonna say at least 2 (but probably 3), including this one. When I get back from vacation I'll start designing galaxies.

Keep in mind that I'm reliant on jey to make sure bvb is stable and on Ryan for the midas team so that might take a while as well.

Traders does have a lot of strong basing players, but the involvement of some of our leadership in the development of the new zone would mean that we will not be the first ones out of the gate in attempting to take Emperor under the new mechanics.
