As I fly around Sol the stars (and maybe it's just so noticable here because there it no background of nebulae) do not generate evenly, popping into existence unevenly around the screen. It's most noticable at a 3/4 camera angle. Personally, I think the medium amount of stars I surrounded in green would look best with my suggested background as they have an even mix of large, bright stars and dimmer, smaller points.

I think the issue is actually that stars are added to the edge of your view as you fly in that direction. But if you fly right for a bit, then fly left, and then fly right again, it kind of builds up extra star density.
