(Yes, i did post this earlier, but in the wrong area, so sorry for the double posting)

First of all, because i can't seem to find this information, is SS2 compatible with windows xp?

When I load star sonata 2, I get to the box with the graphical settings, but when I press the Ok button, I get nothing but a grey screen with a white rectangle in the center, and a couple of very small glitchy looking lighter grey boxes on the bottom left. I've tried numerous different graphical settings. I've run the patchbot, and have reinstalled the program 3 times now.

I am running windows XP, on a GF9800 GTX, and 4gb ram.

I'm suffering the same issues though alittle more severe. The black screen pops up and has a tendency to force a full reboot of my computer. Windows XP, ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics, 2Gigs ram.

That happens to me also, if I try running it in fullscreen mode. Otherwise, in windows mode, it does as I said.

I don't think we're dealing with the same issue here. Nothing loads. Period. Not even the log in screen.. EVER. I've tried just about every single possible graphics settings combination, and be it they do result in slightly different glitchy displays (one of them has a bunch of white check marks on the bottom right of the screen.. ) But they all result in the same thing: Nothing.

i have the same thing as you and dia, its a windows XP issue

Dev's are working on a fix for XP os as I can not long in as well it reboots my computer when I try and run it.

Let give them a LITTLE time to fix this problem. I'm sure they will come up with something

I have similar problems... and I just realized that someone in chat earlier tonight said they had it running on Windows 95. I set StarSonata.exe to compatability mode for Windows 98... now it seems to launch constantly once it gets to the select grpahics screen, with no graphics problems. However, half the time it just makes a star sonata process (visible in CTRL+ALT+DEL->processes) that does nothing... but it does seem to run smoothly if it can get to the pick your graphics startup menu. Windows 95 mode seems to run good too, with the graphics menu popping up consistantly, although teh first time the big connect button was glitched (everything else was fine)... so compatability might be a temp fix for anyone having these problems. Good luck either way guys... I can't play normally either unless I start the thing 10x, and then it might still have graphics issues, or it might run fine for hours on end

I am running XP and have similar problems.

I frequently try to run the client but end up with "program not responding"

It currently takes about 5 attempts to get a load.

I have gotten the game to work in XP now and seems stable.

make sure you have direct X 9.0 or better
windows SP3

once you have installed the game right click on the star sonata 2 game icon.
Click on properties at the bottom
on the new window that opens click on "Compatibility"
put a check mark in the little box for " Run this program in compatibility mode for:
in the drop down window change it to "Windows 98/ Windows Me
Click OK

then run the game it should work now.
