I took my ShM and his slaves levelling.

I had my Rhino and 2 battlecrusier slaves with fighters.
We encounted 4 picks in a normal galaxy, my frame rate dropped from 60 to fluctuate between 10 and 1 (mostely at the lower value)
This is unplayable.
I have a 2.6Ghz dual core processor, 4 GB ram, a GeForce 8600GT graphics card and run XP

I can run 4 clients at 60fps with a single 9800gt, not to mention in SLI mode.
So i'm not too sure at this point...

Can you guys post your specs?

What I experience at times, is my FPS suddenly dropping really low, and forcing me to shut down the client, and restarting a new one. Which takes some time now, and that can be a bit frustrating.

I have two GPUs, one is a 9800gtx+, and a GTS 450. I can't get higher than 46 FPS. Windows 7, Quad core 2.8 or so, 8 gigs of ram...

If you don't have 4-8gb of ram, i wouldn't recommend pre-loading textures. As for the others, it just sounds like a memory leak. Or extra textures are being loaded into RAM even though they've been pre-loaded? Dunno, if it's okay initially, but gets worse over time it's usually a memory leak.

If you set the GTS 450 as the main card it should be fine. You might try disabling all of your monitors except for 1, and have the 450 run on that one and see if you get better fps just to test.

Try disabling all programs running in the background. Also try and get out of high-traffic galaxies like Sol and see if it's still laggy.

I log into the start zone for the pirates and as far as moving that almost impossible. there is a sun close to the base at the pirate start zone it will move then stop when it stops I can count to Mississippi 3 befor it moves again thats how low the fps are for me. I have nothing running in the back ground and my computer is only using 1.85 of the 4 4g of ram I have when the game is running processor is running around 10%

fps has been improved but still a bit to low to be playable and it still crashes when I try to use the pre load texture setting
