We've been trying to track down this bug for a long time! Oh pretty pretty please make a support ticket and attach DxDiag infos!

Start> Run, type "dxdiag", hit enter.

When the new program loads up, click "Save All Information..." and then save that and attach to your ticket.

Thanks. :P

Does weird blinking lines drawn across the screen (sometimes happens spontaneously, but more often after alt-tabbing between forum/wiki and game) also count as part of this bug, or is this something else?

Are you using an Intel graphics card?

Try updating your graphics card driver, if it's old, you could be using an old driver.

Ok, to help you guys get a handle on this particularly anoying bug!

It ONLY does the big flashing filled while squares thing IF your Radar-Window is TURNED OFF!!! The moment you turn it back on, the squares phenomena STOPS!

I also noticed, when this bug first came along, that it tended to get 'flashy boxes' when you entered/exited a jump, or Particularly when there was a Shield-Impact (Fighting) between ai's/bases/players directly around your ship!!!

This happens on my P4 and its AGP-ATI and if I remember correctly also on my PD(HT) and its onboard Intel.

Direct-X and OS version has nothing to do with it!

My suspician at the time was that it might be a 3D-Engine Modeling-Disorder, but I quickly realised that their must be some eronious 3d-object data attempting to render when the radar-window is OFF!

So focus your searches on discrepancies between relative scripting, and you may finally kick this nasty, self-defeatest bug in the 'goolies'!

Good luck, because this bugs a real 'turn-off'!

Cheers.
