Simple title, no? I think this is a pretty old bug but this happens fairly reliably when you have two of one item type eg. shield - equip one, then transfer the other to another ship. Steps to reproduce: 1. Put two different types of item on a ship, eg shield A and shield B. 2. Equip shield A (undock - re dock might be required afterward) 3. Go to unequipped items tab of ship inventory and equip shield B. 4. Right-click and transfer the now unequipped shield A to another ship Shield B which should now be equipped and doesn't appear in the unequipped items tab is actually transferred to the other ship, leaving the unequipped shield A remaining onboard.

This bug appears because an the second item becomes highlighted in your inventory by default when it replaces the one that got equipped, but the game still treats the first item as highlighted.
