On my alt Wozboh, missiles seems to have a roughly 50/50 chance to hit a target, or slowly follow their backside, inching along erratically (it will get within, say 200 range, wait, then when the target is like 400 out it will jerk back into 200 range, rinse repeat).


E: This is using large armor piercing missiles.

E2: It seems that if it approaches the target from the front it is fine, its when it approaches from the back it isn't. Like, any missiles knocked about by knockback, for example.

Just a note: This is also affecting AI that use missiles; I can leisurely drift away from scruples and the missiles will expire via time.

yea same problem, can't believe this hasn't been discussed more? AP missiles are very useful in some cases for their mining damage, but if only half or so hits..

I think this has to do with the missiles thrusting until they are "in range," but not actually.

Their self-destruct weapons are very short range, so any drifting away from it will cause them to not be able to fire. Any decent amount of server lag will stop them from being able to hit properly I think.

Fix would be just give them +1 Forced Thrust, so they never stop running. What kind of missile engine just shuts off .
