About a week or two ago I started packing and dropped a small warp beacon in wild, then rushed back to grab sing sphere and warp there, worked fine just like it should/

Today couldnt do it after 3 separate warp beacon drops :/ Each time the new small warp beacon doesnt show up in my list of available warp options. I tried different variations, making sure i was squaded with myself when i dropped it and the whole time afterward, making sure I wasn't squaded with myself, and then squadding/unsquadding, relogging etc. Using 3 small warp beacons i could never get it once to show up on my available transwarp options after dropping it.

Am I doing something wrong or is there a bug going on with this?

Only FCs and Seers can warp to Small Warp Beacons. You can warp to one if you're in a squad with the FC.

Did you check for the Small Warp Beacon in your possession list when attempting to transwarp? It sounds to me like something might have killed the drone, as they are pretty squishy.

I did not... Hmm maybe that is the case and something was killing it each time. I'll leave some slaves to guard it next time and check.

EDIT: That was it. Some vengeful AI must have been popping it every time I left the gal after placing it. Works after I left some drones and slaves to guard it.
