I was flying my Engineer (Heph Machine) and testing out the Hephaestus Drones.
I've known for a while that AI won't attack if your resists are too high, which most of mine are at 90% or approaching; they will however still tractor my ship. However, usually if I deploy a drone, they will flock to it and attack it like a Mosquito to a zap-light. I deployed a Advanced Command and Control drone + 5 Heph drones in a standard galaxy, my drones were firing at the AI, but the AI would still not shoot at myself or the drones. Even when I used the super items of Heavy Re-jigger and Thunder drone, The AI did not go for them either. Not really sure what has caused this, but I tested it further by going into a DG filled with Green Battleships, deployed the same setup and they did not attack or launch fighters at me. |

Okay, I think my ship might be generating more hostility than the drones firing which causes the AI to focus on me and thus prevents them from firing?
Attached an image to show I am not losing shields and no fighters have been spawned, but I am still getting tractored. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. |

That's a very good point about your main ship generating hostility. I don't know for sure whether drones contribute hostility to the owner, but slaves do.

Yeah it seems to be the only thing that makes sense, I've noticed that the heph drones give a resist debuff that cycles every few seconds, but that still hasn't changed anything.

I've been reporting this and so have many others for a few years now. Not sure why it happens or why it hasn't been fixed but most Engineers don't notice because they sit on their drones. If something can be CC'd by the AI, they will shoot at you and hit the other thing, so it looks normal.
