It actually INCREASES the heat resistance of nearby enemies by 25%.

While we're at it can we make it do something good, like halve the heat resistance of nearby enemies.

Is it an aura or a timed super?

Superitem Aura, like the RP superweapon.

in that case they should probably take it further than heat damage, I really don't get why they made ultra high-end ships and made them direct downgrades from pre-existing content.

Superitems are supposed to get worse as you go up in tech, as I understood what the admins said a while back. Low level players are intended to rely on them to the point where normal weapons are a rounding error. For high level players, they're intended to be nothing more than fancy colored fireworks.

I guess I kinda understand that. At least the damage-y superitems. But utility ones should be very, very useful. Superitems bolted to the ship (such as Kalthi Burn) should be powerful; kinda defines the ship. They should also take up zero power points. Because getting a fancy Aveksaka missile launcher shouldn't make your capship worse than the thing you upgraded from.

Clearly it reaches a point where they disadvantage you to make it fair.

I have corrected it to cause positive vulnerability rather than negative, for next patch.

It does feel like very limited super item however.

Just make it hit every damage type.

And stack on top of Gunner's "resistance" debuff.

Ehhh I don't think the game allows that. Alternatively we could make it a "buff squads resists" item. Sounds more commander'y. Granted it is the Wrathful so I'm not sure.

AoE resistance debuff vs single target gunner debuff. Different tools for different things.

AoE missiles do area debuff. The Qu'ish inbuilt is an AoE missile that I think only affects enemies. So it's still inferior in every stat.

I'm starting to feel like we should just have all the super items for the upgraded Kalthi line made public so we can discuss them, because for the current endgame most of the ships are having trouble justifying themselves stat-wise against Alien alternatives, then they pack pretty garbage super items dooming most of them to being one-off builds that the playerbase avoids as a whole once they get their hands on the stats.

Vert already explained the only ones that are "allowed" to discuss those stats are the ones with the ships. It's solid logic; the ones best able to make suggestions on buffing or nerfing them already have the ships to test it out. But, it's flawed logic. At the time, I don't think there was even one ship of all the Wrathful/Armored variants.

Really disheartening for the average person whose opinion is still valid.

I remember The Vert added them all to the test server and requested that players go test them, before they were added.
I tested them myself, but I guess I missed some issues.

So we knew what they all did, if we tested them... or even if we just read the thread.

I remember I reported some issues with the Merchant Navy Contriver's superitems, and I think these were fixed.

Paladin,

EDIT -- Here is the thread : viewtopic.php?f=107&t=60766

Yes, I know about that thread. I was referring to this:

The point of this testing was not to reveal all the ship statistics to the playerbase, and there is no way for me to set them for sale as 1 credit, so... I won't and can't do that :)

The only real way to adequately test items that are going to exclusively be on a specific ship (except maybe the MNC modules) is to use those ships with the items on them and take them out into mock/real combat situations as well as let people tinker with them in setup calculators to see what would be totally broken or totally lame.

Was also lame as fuck that people like Blizzara weren't able to test stuff then because of some refusal to update the test server so he could use his fancy T22 ship.
