For one, aerodynamic ships have no place in space, considering the severe lack of friction; for two, I don't like "space" ships that are blatantly modeled after fighter jets or are excessively smooth or excessively rigid, and for three, I don't like working on models that I'll have to rebuild in order to apply a meaningful texture.

Maybe I'm just picky, but it has served me well thus far.

As far as this model goes, it needs a lot of work before it can go in-game; I didn't look at the actual model, but from the screenshots it looks like you took my comments into consideration as far as making cleaner looking geometry with less edges, so good job on that. With that being said, it has a lot of weird, rough/jagged angles that just won't work in game.

Build it like it's built; meaning, model in 3D like that something would be made in actuality. Spaceships would be compartmentalized, consisting of similar panels that are attached together etc. It's really easy to model that way, just find appropriate reference for the way things are built and fastened together, and you'll have a much better understanding of where your modeling needs to go.

NAH!
Fighters can be used to fly in atmosphere as well as flying in space, hence their jet like shape =D ( I watched Cowboy Bebob, I'm an expert, really).

I'm sure they can use their jet engines in space then, too? With all that oxygen and such.

Fighters =/= JET Fighters.

My mistake; I'm sure they can use their engines in space then, too? With all that oxygen and such. Whoops, who knew that current engine tech can't dual role because of the earth's gravity and atmosphere...

Current Earth tech can't produce ships bigger than most stars either. This is SS, physics has no place here.

And neither do fighter jets, done.

You're the one labeling them fighter jets. They could be aerodynamic fighters with rocket engines (which work in atmosphere).

You're using concept art to justify some baseless position? Good day to you sir, you can "argue" with yourself.

Your own signature pretty much sums up this thread.

You're using technology from modern day to describe your position about a game set thousands of years in the future? Good day to YOU sir, you can sit in the corner by yourself.

Well. sure you dont need aerodynamics in space, and true you need it in atmosphere. Whether or not it can fly in atmosphere or not does not matter since SS has no atmosphere to fly in.... However theres nothing to say that something cant look aerodynamically badass! Plus i think it looks sexy....

And if you want to be technical about it you might want to look at some SS ships whos engins emits smoke and flames in space witch is non oxygnated. Also this game is in the future which means any modern technology advances means nothing in the game.
