This is a Thatch done by me It will prolly need A LOT of corrections because it is my first 3D Wings object I've ever done so ya, I will get to texturing soon but I may need some tips on it...as u can see I have no idea how to work 3D Wings These pictures are what I thought of thatches for a while now

He is saying the one they currently are using is a good one. If you plan to get your ship into the game you'll have to step it up some. What you have now is a good thing to build off of. I think it should be taller.

Difference between a Thatch and a Gelato is that the Thatch doesn't jiggle.

I would've much rather preferred the thatch have a boxy base, and more angular. Like a 3d octahedron-esque shape.

Anywho, college is out for the summer, and while things have not slowed down much (I've got real life [paying] clients for graphics stuff) I'm going to try to get some more of my works done for SS. I might be able to get my sub running again within the next couple of weeks, so we'll see if I can get online.
For now, here's my version of the Thatch. My idea is that each thatch is made up of a main rig of braces that 8 smaller, cubical cargo modules can be docked to. From there, each thatch can dock to other thatches to increase cargo capacity or even to make a space station. That's the idea in design anyways, if not actual gameplay mechanics (though it would be cool.)
