Soo, I guess I will change few ships and try to make em look better.
First one is rhino, I just flatted surfaces here coz it didnt look as rhino when they were smooth Also removed some useless polygons, difference in performance wont be visible with this amount tho I guess. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/38505556/Conten ... pRhino.obj Content/Default/Models Gotta find out how to make custom mods yet, instead of overwriting original file. I need the .obj of your model. Just the mtl doesn't do me much good.

Thanks for the glowmap. You know, you can test it out yourself in the game by adding a <glowmap> tag to your ship in the ships.xml. I will have to heavily modify this one to actually use it, but it does look usable.

Yesterday I started this and tested it ingame and damn it looked epic. There is even a glow @ the bridge thing on the top which kept tricking my eye and making me think it was 3d while it was not. As to heavily modifying, are you referring to the glow or the model? _________________ Star Sonata is not ready for a release on Steam. Hmm, old Rhino with new glowmap:
Attachment: client2_deployment 2011-11-16 14-07-54-14.png and new Rhino with new glowmap: Attachment: client2_deployment 2011-11-16 14-09-14-46.png It looks like you didn't export your new Rhino with smoothing groups. Is that intentional? I'm not sure if I like it better or not. It is intentional, c2 rhino with smoothing was way too round in my opinion.
Without smoothing it looks more like rhino in c1 You can always make a pool if people like it or not. Btw how do I make game to read files from mod folder in Content? _________________ Original Sybir /GodSteel My custom shader ┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐ |

I would like if v2 was without the shoddy blurred lines, if they had more defined edges along the rhino it would look great.

The engine blurs all glows. I made my glowmap with lines so that the engine wouldnt blur them too much. Seems Jeff fucked with that. @JeffL the thing on the back isnt a circle, it's a flipping crescent moon. That's directly from the texture too. _________________ Star Sonata is not ready for a release on Steam. See this topic for what we think should be done about it. viewtopic.php?f=107&t=59132 |

I think I like the original with the smoothing groups more, personally.

All the UZ ships are too smooth imo.

depends if you like your spaceships millenium falcon or nubian starship
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millennium_Falcon http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/J-type_3 ... l_starship personally I hate smooth ships, the smooth rhino looks like the back end is made of rubber. I will be using the angled modded one. |

Back on topic: I hate the smooth one as well, going with non-smooth rhino. _________________ Star Sonata is not ready for a release on Steam.
