Just for reference, we do not use bump map, we use normal map to achieve bumping effect. Recently a way to force a specular / normal map on any texture was added, if your ship texture is called 1K_ZT_texture.jpg, then your specular must be called 1K_ZT_texture.jpg_SP.png and your normal map must be 1K_ZT_texture.jpg_NM.png. If those files are found next to the texture, they will be used instead of no specular map and an automatically generated normal map. |

shesh man, you sohuld retexture the Testudo ship, considering its the same ass all the tortises and so many people use it, it would be great if you could, looking for change in the boring old turtle colors, looking for some vibrant colors! |

Started texturing Ares, here's a first look: This is a work in progress, anything seen is subject to change. |

Nice. I would be curious to see how that looks on the AWC+ model too. |

Those models are so epic biggee, i would definitely pay cash for those skins. However i would like to see how they look in game it might just look weird. |

anilv wrote: Nice. I would be curious to see how that looks on the AWC+ model too. The main problem with this is that I rebuilt the base model to be seamless and this texture will not function on the model currently in game. I'd have to remodel the AWC+ model as well, and somehow line up the UV's to take advantage of this custom texture. I'm sure it can be done, but i'm not sure how much of a pain in the ass it would be. Most of the models in game are built lazily, and textured lazily. This model and UV layout is more or less "perfect" in terms of what you want for being able to texture it for the highest attention to detail possible, and it's seamless, which means it is in one big piece. Most models in game are made up of intersecting pieces with a texture that is projected onto them from one camera view (usually top down), so all of the sides of the model look really distorted. It's just lazy work really, and the quality just isn't there because whoever was working on it was probably overworked as it was and just wanted to be done with it and didn't care about the details. That being said, if I can get a heads up that these will be used in some way, i'd be more willing to put forth the effort to remodel the other models needed, including the AWC+. As it is though, these are just here to look pretty and I gain nothing from working on them. |

It looks just like the ZT, just with a different texture :S |

Tomzta09 wrote: It looks just like the ZT, just with a different texture :S Yeah, it's a re-texture, not a remodel. It's a ton of work to setup a photoshop document for usability every time I make a new model with new UV's, and everyone is already comfortable with the current models, and they are low poly and probably the most common ships out there. I would probably go in and model/animate the + versions if I get to that point, but not really a reason to now with these just being eye candy. |

In Game It's still using the old glowmap and normal map, so i'll work on that today. |

Right now each plane of the ship has a white border around it. If you removed those, would it wash out the perspective too much? |
