Right now each plane of the ship has a white border around it. If you removed those, would it wash out the perspective too much?

Probably not, I can try it and see how it looks though. With the normal mapping, it might look completely different and may make it look a lot better than it does currently. I'll post some screenshots a bit later of normal mapping with/without the border.

Here's with the normal map, no borders, no glow. The texture was designed with some kind of border in mind, so I'd have to do some tweaking to make it a bit cleaner. The alternative is to not have the borders white, but just that beveled look like you see on the front half.

It does lose a bit of perspective if it isn't top down, not really sure how to alleviate that without some kind of accentuation.

EDIT:
Here's a quick fix, it looks pretty good.

It seems that you managed to achieve the borderless look on the Zeus Throne so I was just wondering how it would look on the AWC. Either way is fine with me.

The ZT's texture is a lot less busy in that area and I used different gradients to accomplish that. I'll see if I can make it a little cleaner looking, thanks for the input.

Looks awesome, could you make a cool poseidon wave texture etc? I would love to see you do that :P

My plan was to do all of the base Olympus ships first, Poseidon included. Not sure when exactly, but that was the original plan.

That being said, if I can get a heads up that these will be used in some way, i'd be more willing to put forth the effort to remodel the other models needed, including the AWC+. As it is though, these are just here to look pretty and I gain nothing from working on them.

As I've said before; generally, if there is good art to be used, I'll find a use for it somewhere, somehow.

Same goes for features which aren't commonly used, sometimes I'm working on things and find something I never knew about and then work it in (admittedly, that happens a lot less these days since I've fully documented a lot of stuff since then).

That's quite vague.

Biggee, good to see you around. I personally think they would be slightly mental to not use any graphics you upload on the forums. You never post anything that would hurt this game, your additions are always nice. Keep it up.

What's vague about that, Trevor?

If there is good art to be found, I'll find a use eventually. Might take me twenty years, but rest assured that I will find a place. You never know, you might find this piece of art in The Nexus, or a new uber, or maybe DG paint. But I'll find a place.

Also SoonTM.

These ship models are clearly better than the current game ones.
