Pretty sure its ugly ship graphics whos killing MMOGs, that ship would sick in game just like the oly ships do. Before they were added, those ships dont go along with anything else in this game yet they became the coolest thing in game as soon as we saw them.

They also had an entire zone built around their concepts and had pretty solid textures to set them apart; this is one really out of place model all by itself with no texture and paper thin polygons everywhere.

I can guarantee that it will look like absolute balls if you were to just load up the .obj right now in game; light would reflect off of it really strangely and you would be able to see every edge of every single polygon. That may mean nothing to you, but it equates to not being usable.

Anyone who actually thinks it through? If you could make similarly sized cubes move through the air like an F22, you would be the most powerful nation on the planet. To anyone that knows anything about aeronautics, a streamlined design is not something done for aesthetics. It is a literal crutch for the aircraft, it symbolizes weakness and inefficiency, every piece you have to cut down and reshape is more space you could put fuel, personnel, supplies, weapons, and counter measures.

You may feel that making them aerodynamic or streamlined makes them look tough, or imposing. However, take any F22 pilot and show him a large bulky craft that can fly like his, and odds are he would gtfo without firing a shot. Because large and bulky in the military translates to obscenely well armed and difficult to break, couple that with speed and agility and you have produced the worlds most imposing weapon.

I work with F18 mechanics, pilots, weapons techs, etc everyday. In all that time you never hear anything good about aircraft. You only hear about how delicate it is, and rightly so, missiles, machineguns, fueltanks, canopies, virtually everything on a jet fighter has to have its efficiency razed to make it work with those platforms. So, you might look at a vulture or panther and think it imposing, but anyone who has ever been around one will only see an obsolete system operating with weaknesses that could be completely eliminated by its very purpose. Not exactly attractive.

Biggee isn't saying everything needs to be a fat ass flying cube, he's saying everything needs to stop looking so damn delicate, and I agree with him.

It has nothing to do with scary the AI it has a lot to do with making your models look imposing and powerful as opposed to delicate or inherently frail.

Where did landing gears come from? You are arguing that aerodynamic ships do not belong in SS well there are 4 examples of aerodynamic ships.

The currently "aerodynamic" ships that are in-game don't look like jets, or fighter jets, or jet fighters, or whatever else you want to call something that flies around in the sky. No bro, you're right. We should totally start adding fighter jets into SS; we can use your team's HQ to launch and refuel them all if you want?

Also bro, if you look at the screenshots in the first post, you can clearly see the 2 extensions on the underside that are pretty much exactly where the underside would open up and extend the back landing gear on your typical "military jet". So bro, if you want to play with the big boys, you're gonna have to open your eyes a bit.
