You need 7 commods to get a tech 21 skill, but the commods don't drop -- you get them from a mission, so everyone in the squad in that galaxy will get one. Thus there's less incentive to take less people.

Yeah, you're still going to want to take as few people as you can and still know you're going to win. That's just the way it is, but at least this way you don't have 10 people fighting over one commod to level up.

You've all probably noticed that its gone quiet in here from me - this is because we're currently slogging (and yes, slogging is the word) through all the nitty-gritty for T21 skills:
BPs, Commods, processes, placing BPs, trying out various new ways of production (I'm particularly happy with our new code (thanks SAL!!) that allows BPs to build multiple things at the same time. i.e. Instead of a single product, we can specify 1000's of them, if so desired) and some surprises! So, we're still working at it. p.s. Top tip: don't mis-read a design doc / notes. I spent a few hours "upgrading" Olympus to an entirely different kettle of fish before speaking to Jeff. Turns out I'd mis-read planetarium as aquarium in my sleep deprived fugue. Cue scrapping a lot of work (or rather, moving it elsewhere ) |

Updated test again. Phobos and Deimos are more interesting. Hephaestus should be more difficult.
Our aim is to patch this in this week if we can get the instancing stable enough. We really need a lot of players on test in order to really run instancing through its paces. I would like to ask every team to try to set a time in the next 2 days or so to put a real squad together and make a serious attempt to beat at least one of the bosses.
