Hi everyone. As we get closer to alpha on Star Sonata 2, I could use the help of a few volunteers if there is anyone interested. The 4 things I can think of right now where volunteers would be really useful are:
1. Help us with sound effects in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=43503 2. Help with the C2 ships. Many C2 ships are either backwards, invisible, need to have engine mounts specified, or need to have their center specified. You can edit the way ships look in C2 by editing your ships.xml file as described on this page here: http://wiki.starsonata.com/index.php/C2_Ship_Problems. It just takes a little trial and error with experimenting with rotations and offsets. (You need to be able to visualize coordinates in 3d.) Many + or artifact ships are either missing or look like space rats, while the normal version is displaying correctly. All that's needed in this case is just copy the information from one part of the file to another. I could use some people willing to go through the various ships in the game and get them looking good. 3. Modify textures for + or artifact versions of ships. If you have some Photoshop skillz, then you can edit the textures of the existing ships in C2 to make modified versions for the + and artifact versions of those ships. You can assign your new texture map in your own C2 by editing the ships.xml file mentioned above and see how it looks, and if you get something that looks cool, send me the new texture and the new entry for that ship in the ships.xml file. (If you know 3d modeling, you could also submit improvement to the current models.) 4. Help with UI. The UI is completely skinnable and customizable. We welcome suggested improvements to the UI at this time. If you have C2, you can copy the XML files and fiddle around with them to make them look better. How do I access these? I would gladly help fix them if I only knew where they where.

I might be able to fiddle around and see what I come up with for 3.
Also, I might be delayed a bit on the controlbot vocals, it just depends on today's schedule since I have a crew call in the studio at 12:30. Thanks everyone. I think we have enough people to help with 2-4 for now, so I'd like to see how the first batch do before accepting any more volunteers on those things. If they are slackers, I'll kick 'em to the curb and bring in more. =)
