I have been working on a Massif III. so far i have finished the model and animation. I am going to see if i can get darth to tex map it properly tomorrow.
ill make a youtube vid tomorrow so you guys can see the animation. for now ill show you a few screen shots in 3ds max. also for people who don't know massif's have been changed to the bulk kinda look. reason for this is because of how nice the animation is. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. _________________ |

Dag, yo.
Still, I kinda miss the old modular design of the Massif line. Don't suppose we can use that style as a new NCC line of ships? Or somewhere? Maybe a space station made up of older model Massif modules? _________________ P2P (Offline): Copernicus/Tycho/Kepler/Starlight Squadron/Starlight Droners Inc. When I imagine a large carrier I imagine that. Not a ship like the Dark Freighter which is smaller than some Heavy fighters

I really like the concept, but it could perhaps use a bit of bulking up on the frame (like thicker tubing if you know what I mean) so that it looks a bit heftier. That is just my personal preference though I like my freighters to be fat.

Just an idea I had watching the video, but while the model is great and far exceeds what the Massif III looks like now, it still looks somewhat awkward in the center because of the emptiness. Just as an experiment, if you could, try and enlarge and synchronize the rotation of the storage units so that they move like cogs, or interlocking gears.

And I love the design atm as well Kanga _________________ Illegitimi Non Carborundum |

I would suggest linking the two sides with something other than the bent tube, in the back a wider engine segment would look good instead of the bent pipes comming together to the small one.

Making the barrels interlace would be pretty cool.

They will interlace nicely if animated properly

That looks Massif!
On a serious note: it does look alot more like it's a very very big freighter than the first model. _________________ "Think of the children!" does not compute hmm, a mountain that eats people... i want one! |

the transition from the head of the ship to the body and body to engine is much smoother in my opinion.

I think it'll look cool in game with interlacing cargo modules. Still, It'd be neat if we could bring back the classic Massif line design in some fashion or other.
