I believe the line of thought is that is would flood the market, which is just dumb as it would also remove Sups.

Cap. Augmenter can be sold for more than a Sup. Cap. In my opinion that should never happen, so with this system in place it couldn't as 1 Sup. = ~8 Std. Though the conversion wouldn't be a direct 1:8 as the BPs would also cost money. So, let's say 1:5. Stds. would also retain value(just not more than Sups.) as they are required in mass and therefore a bit harder to come by, as well as the tendency of many players to avoid building. I'd prefer 1 Sup= 1 Exe and so on down the line. there should be SOME loss in augmenters to counter-act markets.

Why not 2 sup = 3 exc? Imo, one for one is a bit harsh.

I am still lost, why not just creds?

I'd much rather just have the ability to camp certain types of AI for the various kinds of augs instead. Nothing more exaggerated than the elevated frequency of hostile+damage in Copper, for example.

Enkelin's suggestion makes more sense.
You should be able to go kill a certain type of AI and get a few of the aug you want each time you clear a DG of it for example.
