Is webchat connected to C2? If not, it would be great if you could get that up and running...

Point taken, however, it can't be that hard/time consuming to do?

Susie, we've discussed this before. The chat client and webchat are currently pointed at the correct server, the problem I think is a change in the login method.
I was going to work on a chat client for the game but I cannot legally share a 3rd party program for the game without permission or have a way to distribute it to others easily without approval. Sure I could put it on another website but then it would be an endless game of cat/mouse as they try to patch me out. I am still seeking permission to work on the *official* desktop chat client. _________________ Never™ |

Make a client. give source to admins. admins approve if its not full of hax. Admins don't want to approve something for you to forget about it halfway through development. Show them something "real" even if its just a thin client that would need to be modified to work with SS's user database. _________________ Octo wrote: QFT Octo either owned the fish initially, or scooped it when he podded any/all of the above. |

Well Swarm, since thats the case, wouldn't it be even easier to just adjust the login and use the same client?
@Lemon: My programming capabilities are rather limited. Its also been a while, I would probably end up destroying every piece of software on my hard drive... _________________ “You don’t have to suffer to be a poet. Correct, That's why I offered to work on and update the current Java/Desktop client. I am a Java and C++ programmer and I would love the excuse to do something interesting without having the burden of only working on something because I am being paid to do it. _________________ Never™ |

I find it a lot easier to say: "I want to make this, how do I do it". And then find out how you would make that thing in the language.
Read all the 'official' documentation of the language. Stack Exchange/Overflow are supremely helpful when trying to find out that might be more advanced/obscure than those found in the documentation. Google is your friend. A manhour calc is probably the easiest thing to start with. _________________ Octo wrote: QFT Octo either owned the fish initially, or scooped it when he podded any/all of the above. |

It won't feel like homework the first time you make something that functions the way you intended it to. It's a great feeling _________________ uhmari wrote: When i look at uhmari, I can see clearly the problems in it |
