AS A P2P YOU SHOULD BE IMMUNE FROM ANY PvP ATTEMPTS FROM F2P PLAYERS!

f2p can't go to perilous, can't shoot in wild space, and no one can pvp in earthforce space.

You have been bug fixing this whole uni and who knows what will happen next uni. If you legitimately obtained something that you were allowed to obtain, and had it taken away because someone else got jealous, the repercussions are just insane. You can easily expect the player to rage and probably quit, in the process telling all his or her friends not to play SS. The admins cannot cover up that if that got out to other websites, spiraling the problem out of control. It isn't like some noob slandering Voomy, cough Bonecrusher cough, this is the admins giving favor to a specific player or group over another. And that, would actually kill SS. _________________ Salt Assault drew this conclusion from the latest devblog. |

I think the point is that f2p weren't supposed to be able to legitimately obtain these skills. _________________ Octo wrote: QFT Octo either owned the fish initially, or scooped it when he podded any/all of the above. |

Camsy wrote: I (at least I think I have) just had a stroke of genius! Why not make it that after lvl "X" (maybe 300, 500, 1000, not really sure with new sp cost system). That f2p's slowly start getting less xp per kill. It wouldn't be noticable at first but after about 100 levels over the cap it starts becoming very obvious that xp isn't coming in quite as fast. Once the f2p is limited to 1/4 the xp of a normal P2P, the limiter stop taking it down any further. (This is for those f2p's who really truly cant go p2p and are happy to grind in dg's a lot longer) But for the rest of the f2p's they'll see that they aren't gaining as many levels (as they're p2p friends of similar level) And watch as all the f2p's around them also start going p2p, until they finally crack and decide its worth it. Pay the $10 and then suddenly BAM! Amazing superfast (or so it seems) Leveling and they'll never want to go back to the grind of being an f2p! tl;dr - F2P's dont gain as much xp per level, this eventually gets them to become p2p. Anyone feel like commenting on this idea, I feel it got skipped over, and I think it would be a solution to the problem. _________________ Blue Dwarf wrote: Statistically, they haven't changed. I never really cared if f2p could get tech 20/21 or not. The point is not to make the game crappy for f2p's so that they will pay. The point is to give away as much as we can that has zero marginal cost to us. The parts of the game with non-zero marginal cost is mainly wild space, since the more people building, the more real estate there needs to be, and pvp areas such as wild space, perilous, and uz. f2p's who don't take up building space and don't crowd out the pvp areas are an asset to the game. They can visit p2p's shops and buy stuff, if they like the game, they can evangelize and bring their friends, and they could eventually pay.
I'm not looking to eventually get a few hundred more p2p's. I really want a few thousand more, and to eventually get there, I think we need as many people playing and enjoying the game as possible, even if the percentage of people who go p2p is reduced. I mean, we already have about a 90% rate of people who play the game going p2p. What we need to dramatically increase somehow is the pool of total players from which to convert f2p's into p2p's. _________________ For support, please create a support ticket here and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Step 1. Give f2ps a little freedom
Step 2. Remove that freedom, watch them complain. Step 3. Look like the good guy and give back lots of freedom (more than before) Step 4. Remove all f2p content and watch as they all turn p2p. Step 5. Remove Timmeh. Step 6. Profit? _________________ Blue Dwarf wrote: Statistically, they haven't changed. Except for the beef I gave. |
