I'm in the same boat as you wolfen, I cant even get to the startup menu. Jey is going to go through the issue with me tomorrow step by step, if we manage to fix the problem I'm sure he'll happily guide you through it.

-=Odysseus=- wrote: I seem to have remedied the problem... If you mess around with the resolution options in the start up client it should fix the problem... It seems to only have a problem with certain resolutions... Then I see a few more people can't even get to the startup screen. A few months ago, I had a resolution problem where every time SS started up all of the options on the starup menu were off the screen. I had to go into the config file and change my resolution manually. Maybe something similar will help you all. Try this: go into c:/Users/User/AppData/Roaming/Starsonata2/config and open the UserConfig file. The top of the file should look something like this: Code: <?xml version="1.0" ?> <config show_taskbar="0" oral_soap="0" show_startup_options="1" show_server="0" host="liberty.starsonata.com" port="3030" ....... <device drivertype="DIRECT3D9" graphics_level="VERY_HIGH" far_clipping="20000.000000" fullscreen="0" use_desktop_resolution="0" res_x="1366" res_y="768" ....... set this in the code above to something other than what you currently have: res_x="1366" res_y="768" 800x600 1024x768 1280x720 are all options you'd have if you were able to get to that startup screen. If this helps, I'm glad. If not, you're in good hands with Jey. |

Ok, no guarantees that this is going to work and it'll only look familiar if you're using Windows 7, but I attached a PDF file with pictures of how to change the resolution in the config file. And if for some reason it messes up the startup menu even more, you can always delete the config file and it'll be replaced with default values once you run the patchbot again.

the resolution error would only apply if your trying to play in fullscreen, although if you like mcing. altabbing browsing while you play etc, windowed is a much better deal
