Something I've been wanting to make for a while, but never got around to finishing. The hull texture is a freebie from here. If people like this, I could make the station that was at the center of this ring and we could have C1-style Blue and Red Photon galaxies. I could dirty the texture up for Blue Photon Processing and turn the windows red for Red Photon.
I'd post the texture file, but it's too big for attachment. This is extremely epic! I'd love to see a C1 style Blue Photon / Red Photon station as well!

I'm glad y'all like it. I'll get to work on the central station this afternoon. I likely use a combo of the two C1 graphics attached as a basis, then give them real depth.

Okay, here's progress on the inner station. I interpreted the central section as some sort of dome with docking bays around it.

It got put on the back burner since I've been more actively looking for irl work and trying to improve my character design skills. Still, I'll see if I can fiddle with this more soon.

I usually just draw in photoshop until I can't stand it anymore, then model various body parts. _________________ uhmari wrote: When i look at uhmari, I can see clearly the problems in it |

My strategy is to go for speed, see gesture drawing. Once you have a better grasp of form you can do allot more 'design'. Don't get bogged down in what color eyes are going to be if you can't emote with your sketching.

Gesture drawing is a good idea. Just spend a couple of minutes sketching from a reference picture, then move on to another reference, just drawing to match the flow of the pose rather than the contours of the figure. Also helpful is to be well grounded in realism before getting more stylized in design. If you have a good understanding of the human form, then you can better understand how to push/exaggerate the proportions and whatnot while making it still "work" for the audience.
This YouTube channel has some useful introductory videos about gesture drawing and whatnot: http://www.youtube.com/user/ProkoTV Even if you're fairly experienced, it never hurts to watch tutorials on the basics. Never know what new things you might pick up. _________________ P2P (Offline): Copernicus/Tycho/Kepler/Starlight Squadron/Starlight Droners Inc.
