I got Windows 10 and when playing SS on normal or beta client for around one minute, the client stops rendering. I can still type and click on things and move my ship, but the client stops rendering everything. I played with sounds on and could here my ship thrusting, firing and other things firing. I can still type messages to people. I can even open options and change things (if I knew where the buttons were or the game froze when I had the options screen up). Because the client doesn't stop responding or crash, it doesn't generate a dmp file. The client did crash when I was messing with graphics settings and I sent that in, hopefully it helps.
edit: I have also tried reinstalling SS on both the normal and beta clients, that didn't help. 2nd edit: Computer specs if they help are: Windows 10 Home, GeForce GTX 970, Intel Core i5-3350P CPU @ 3.10GHz, 14 GB RAM _________________ Goldylox |

mmm, thats a strange one. Could you delete starsonata.log from your game folder, start the game, close it then send the newly generated log to dmpfile@starsonata.com ?
Is the rendering glitch also occurring in the startup config window thingy ? (the small config window that appear on startup when not disabled). If you disabled the startup config window, you can enable it back. open the config folder in your ss folder. edit UserConfig.xml look for show_startup_options="0" and change it to ="1" Something else you could try OptimisedGuiRender="1" change it to ="0" _________________ One of the first and proud flight controller. starsonata.log file has been sent.
The rendering glitch does not affect the startup config window, every button is check-able and all of the drop boxes work (waited 5 minutes after the client would normally freeze and the startup config window works still). Tried OptimisedGuiRender="1" change it to ="0", didn't help. Also a bit more information, the login screen if I leave that up and don't log in freezes also (not sure if this is useful or not). _________________ Goldylox |

oh so the freeze happen after a time. Did the .log you sent include said freeze ? (i could not see anything out of the ordinary in it, but theres a high chance the reason for the screen freeze wont be in either way).
If you did exactly what i asked (open close send) then i assume it doesnt, that would be my fault for misunderstanding the problem. If so, please redo the log but waiting for it to freeze on the login screen before closing the game then sending. _________________ One of the first and proud flight controller. if that doesnt get us more data on the problem. Ill have to make a special debug client for you to run, but that will take a few hours. I am curious as to what is causing said freeze, until i know exactly why, i cant exactly rule it out as a driver problem. Altho i cant think of anything in our code that could cause such a freeze other than the optimised gui rendering thing (i had to do a few rendering hacks to get it to work but by setting it to 0 those hacks are all disabled).

The log did include the freeze as I figured that would be more helpful.

darn alright. Tomorrow ill make a client with some extra debug output in it, hopefully it will give us more hint as to what is going on.

Sorry been pretty busy but its compiling now.
Could you come on irc and /msg Jey ? It would be easier to debug with a chat than forum posts xD. Theres an irc browser client in the Community menu on the website if you dont have a real one setup. _________________ One of the first and proud flight controller.
