Post Radar direction indicator shows wrong direction
I'm currently 46,341 distance from Ngorongoro gate in Serengeti Nebula. The direction indicator on radar shows totally wrong direction.
If I get closer, the direction indicator fixes itself, however if I fly futher from it it turns to the same wrong direction.

It's bugged in stable and in beta.

Interesting report. Do I even want to know what you're doing so far out in that gal though? :P

Any chance you can fix the range indicator (the red ring) on the radar screen as well? That's been broken for a long time

Yeah I believe it shows vanilla range without classes (and maybe w/o augs as well?)

ill have a look. If its just a matter of missing augs, then it should be a server side fix.

Post Re: Radar direction indicator shows wrong direction
I had a look at the code that give the weapon range to the client (which is what is being used for the red circle).

Everything seem to be included fine (augs, trans mastery, mod extended, sniper_range, zen_range and whatever speedDemonTracker is).

Altho i think the issue might have to do with sniper skill. If anyone could confirm that its their issue it would be great (as in their non sniper have proper range display).

Sniper have their range change depending on the speed, but the client isnt updated on that so the range is likely off.

Id just like a confirmation that this is the only problem, before i go and refactor the code to include the dynamic update on the client side.

I went on my SD to have a look. The first 2 white rings on the radar are the 1k distance and 2k distance marks. The 3rd ring is the 4k distance mark. As you can see I have roughly 1.1k range on my heph blazing mallet according to the ship window, yet the red circle on the radar doesnt even reach the white 1k ring and is more likely to be around 600 according to the radar screen. Now, when I actually test it in game, the range on the ship window is accurate.

Maybe when the circle is drawed, it takes range as diameter while it's radius?

I think you're right. With a Sterile cannon where i have 8048 range with in the ship window the red line is exactly on the 4k ring on the radar! Shouldn't be that hard to fix then :) Jey? :)
