When and how did you find out about Star Sonata?

A friend from school told me how cool it was and I started playing with another friend. We spent the first day of our SS career mining astroids in Free Market to be able to purchase a Helga
In the end the person that invited me to the game quit after being a lvl 20 F2P for a while, the other friend stopped when he was in a Didus Ineptus (tits ) so...... here I am! _________________ ~DarkSteel / Auxilium Universe Map: http://www.starsonata.com/map/ |

13 years old looking for Space Games, couldn't download Vendetta Online and loved the fuck outta games like http://www.stellar-conflicts.com/, store.steampowered.com/app/352700/, http://www.netrek.org/, http://starportgame.com/, http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/evn, http://www.cornutopia.co.uk/lif/, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YquBvhj2yCQ (THIS GAME WAS FUCKING AMAZING!!!)
Then I found out about SS in late 2004, early 2005. Played on an old character named rat man or something, friend gave me a billion back then, then I stopped and did other shit for a while. Came back with a force in 2006 and have always came back since, even with year long breaks... _________________ http://www.starsonata.com/suggestions |

It was in 2008 when I was 12 years old. I was in a science lesson on a school laptop, I was on a random Google search for online games and I came across Star Sonata buried under a big long list of games to choose from. What I was supposed to be doing doing was researching the Combustion process.

In the past I played several MMORPGs (OS Runescape ftw!), simulation games (Simutrans/Transport Tycoon Deluxe/RCT1-2 (3 came out like 5 years after I started SS)). And I always was into space stuff.
So at some point I asked the great library of the internets (Google, not wikipedia!) of some good "Space trading game". Finding back then SS on top of the first page. That was I think 2003-2004. Lost my progress (lvl 5?) and came back once every few weeks to start over again, being frustrated because I didn't understand much (starting in sol, no instructions to an 11 year old, never ends well). Later the Nexus was the first beginning and I started to understand SS a lot more. made my first 1m in Preload trading silicon and microchips. Then doing the prom mission for an extra boost, got a Bulk trader and it got even faster. Later trading prom in W0, FM to 5j away. Finding out a Bulk II wasn't the best option if you are short on time. Basicaly gained 50m in 1 hour, then bought all the prom I could and parents told me to get of and the next day it all decayed... Had quit like 10 times from that alone. _________________ Valkyrie300 wrote: You need to thoroughly think before sprouting exaggerated statements |
